Thirteen years after Britain’s Labour party won a landslide victory over the Conservative party in 1997, it faces a tough battle for re election. What will be the issue will decide which party wins? Will the election outcome affect the decision, of ex pat Britons, to return home? Joanne Griffith, author of the forthcoming book, ‘Redefining Black Power in the Age Of Obama, covered the historic 1997 with the BBC in the UK and shares her thoughts on the May 6, 2010 election.

Singer and Songwriter Somi was born in Illinois to Rwandan and Ugandan parents. Her third and latest album, ‘If the Rain’s Come First’ was released in 2009, on ObliqueSound. She talks to Christabel Nsiah-Buadi about her music, her collaborations (including one with Hugh Masekela), and her work with New Africa Live.
